The Community Website for Foston Village in Lincolnshire - Just North of Grantham in the East Midlands
.
Foston Playing Field Committee was established in March 2008, following publication of the Parish Plan. The plan is the result of gathering information and opinions from the villagers (73% of 192 households responded).
A working group was established to analyse the results and an Action Plan put in place. The FPFC stemmed from this action plan. Our vision is to provide good quality play equipment for all ages, and not just establish a playground, but help create a much needed community meeting point within the village. We are now fine tuning our strategy and submitting applications for funding. Whilst we are looking mainly to grants to achieve our aims, we also have to raise a proportion of the funding ourselves. So far we have raised money from sponsorship for the Long Bennington Fun Run, from a very successful bag pack at Asda, and from subs received at the weekly kids sports club - held on the field every Friday at 6pm.
Monday 1st September - Quiz at the Staunton Arms from 7.30. Teams of 4. All monies raised go towards the club. Just turn up on the night. There will also be a raffle.
Saturday 20th September - Curry and Quiz night at the village hall. Tickets are £7.50 and both the food and the quiz will be top notch! A bar will also be available. For tickets, please call Nicola or Paul on 01400 282753.
Friday 31st October - children's Halloween party at the village hall. Spooky fun and traditional games for the kids. More details soon...
